Our Mission

The Anne Arundel Firefighters Emerald Society exists to support the first responder community through charity, camaraderie, and tradition. We provide meaningful assistance to first responders and their families during times of illness, injury, tragedy, financial hardship, and line-of-duty death.

Our mission is rooted in unity and heritage: when adversity strikes, no first responder or family should face it alone. Through financial aid, community programs, and charitable initiatives, we stand beside those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting our communities.

Our History

The Emerald Society was established by local firefighters who believed deeply in tradition, service, and taking care of our own. Inspired by the values and spirit of our Irish American fire service heritage, our founders built an organization grounded in camaraderie, pride, and community support.

Over time, our membership has grown to include first responders and supporters from a wide range of backgrounds. While we honor the traditions that shaped us, we proudly embrace the diverse and inclusive family we have today—united by shared purpose.

The Emerald Society continues to honor our heritage while expanding our mission of service and support. Through charitable events, partnerships, and community engagement, we remain committed to preserving tradition, strengthening unity, and providing meaningful assistance to the first responders and families who protect our communities every day.
