About The Emerald Society
The Anne Arundel Firefighters Emerald Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting first responders and their families. In recent years, we have provided over $50,000 in assistance to local first responders and their families.
This series is another way we are working to support our community.

What to Expect
The First Responder Readiness Series is built to provide practical, relevant information that supports first responders and their families across all stages of the job—from rookie to retiree.

This virtual event will feature multiple expert-led sessions running concurrently, allowing attendees to choose the topics most relevant to them. Sessions are designed to be straightforward, informative, and applicable to real-world situations both on and off the job.

Topics include mental health, sleep and recovery, financial planning, workers’ compensation and presumptive laws, and fireground safety considerations such as CSST awareness. Additional topics may be added as the series continues to grow.

While the event is open to all, some sessions may include local considerations and resources. The series is primarily designed for first responders and their families in Anne Arundel County and surrounding jurisdictions, including active members and retirees.
Speakers
Our speakers bring real-world experience and practical knowledge to topics that impact first responders and their families. Each session is designed to provide clear, useful information you can apply on and off the job.
